Between the 15 and 19 of october of this year will be the 53rd edition of the international Boat Show of Barcelona,  ​​which will concentrate all brands, offers and industry news.

The exhibition will have the presence of more than 900 nautical brands.

The event will be take place in the Port Vell which will be divided into 4 sections:
«Espai del Mar» Traditional Marina, Fun Beach and Village.

This year’s event will have different activities to create unique experiences with the sea. One will be the creation of artificial waves for surfing. They will also do demonstrations and outings SUP (Stand Up Paddle) Flyboards Shows, Regattas and trophies among others.

The entrance fee is 12 euros and the event shedule will be from 10:00 to 19:00.

La Esquinica

The Esquinica is one of the most iconic tapas bars in Barcelona, well-known despite its location.

The decoration does not stand out for anything, it has a large window with a large outdoor terrace and with a classic tavern air and the interior decor with lots of wood, tiles and large wrought iron lamps, cachirulos on the walls, endless posters with unique signs and a large mural backdrop. It is very spacious, although it remains small at rush hour.

The food offer is varied, from the classics such as potato salad, cuttlefish, fried noses, black pudding… to probably the Best Bravas in town!!! They offer a wide variety of seafood in form of tapas as well as some meat tapas.

This is an excellent tapas bar and it is highly recommended for its friendly environment to eat good authentic Spanish tapas at a very reasonable price.

OKTOBERFEST BARCELONA

Here it is the 3rd edition of this popular festival

The traditional German festival is nearing, and this year it will be held at the Fira Barcelona
Montjuïc ( Plaza Universo ) located next to Plaza Spain from the 3rd to 12th of October.
The exhibition will be under a Big Tent of 4,000 m2 where you’ll find attractions for all ages,
Bavarian group concerts and DJs .

You can also enjoy traditional Bavarian cuisine, among its famous dishes the pork knuckle,
roast chicken with potatoes, German sausages, salads, pretzels and other dishes .
And the the star of this event: Beers! Paulaner Original, Paulaner Weissbier and Paulaner Salvator .

La Mercé 2014

La Mercé is one of the biggest streets parties in the city of Barcelona.

The party will start on Friday 19 of september and will run until Wednesday 24, with multiple scenarios and a program of more than 600 activities and shows.

The city of Stockholm will be the special guest of this year, a tradition that began in 2007, making the Swedish capital in the eighth city to participate in this festive and cultural exchange. The meeting between the two cities will materialize into two productions: the mapping Barcekholm 3D, which will be screened at the City Hall and also in the building of Foreign Affairs Swede and Circ Combinat the show, which will be at Castle Montjuïc.

In the Ciutadella Park there will be shows such as the solo dancer Virpi Pahkinen, Full group dance, musical theater group Sirqus Alfonso, the two magicians and dancers D1gits urban dance Erik Linghede, Niki Awandee, Arvidos inxi Håkansson and Ida Holmlund.

The Barcelona Accio Musical (BAM), which brings great free concerts in open spaces, will schedule a night for Swedish music groups Mariam the Believer, Seinabo Sey, Zhala, Postiljon, Frida Sundemo and NONONO.

The program of events will feature other well established classics like the Carrera de la Mercè, the Procession of La Merce or Fire Run, which will take place on Sunday 21 September.

With castells (human pyramids), dracs (dragons) and gegants (giants), with dances, including sardanes, that illustrate the wealth of Catalan folklore, with fire and gunpowder… That is how Barcelona celebrates its most traditional festivity.

And if you want to see the city’s fire bestiary at close-hand without having to flee from the smoke and sparks, you can visit the exhibition that will be installed in the lobby of the City Hall on September 15-20. Take note: the correfoc will take place on Sunday, September 21.

Its summer, the weather is really hot and you have been at the beach all day. Why not stop for an icecream??? If you want to try something different then try Eyescream & Friends located at Paseo Joan de Borbó, 30 (very close to Barceloneta beach).

eyescream and friendsThey offer a friendly and above all innovative icecream. They use the technique of shaved ice cream which makes the texture a little bit different from those creamy italian icecream recepies.

The ice cream is delicious, the problem is that was aesthetically ugly,the owners added a creative twist; they put eatable sugar eyes and served in a small tray on, with compartments for different toppings and sauces you want to put on it.

We recommend it. Go and try it and let us know what you think of it!

Fiestas de Gracia 2014

The Fiestas de Gracia are probably one of the most popular in the city-level block party in town.

This year, las Fiestas de Gràcia 2014 will take place from the 15th to the 21st of August, so if you are planning to come ti Barcelona this week don’t miss out on these parties!

This special party have their origin in the nineteenth century, when the population of this neighborhood did not belong to Barcelona. During this week the whole neighborhood undergoes a major transformation. Most of the streets are decorated and there are a lot of activities and concerts (that shouldn’t be missed).

During the Fiestas de Gracia, most of the events that are organized are completely free.  Neighbors come together to decorate their street and enter the contest that rewards the best decorated street of the year. Each year a different theme is chosen to inspire the festival but the central theme is secret until the party starts.

Verdi Street, one of the most popular in the neighborhood, usually ends up as the winner.

Everybody loves to eat a nice juicy burger, right? In Barcelona there a lot of Burger joints for you to enjoy at different prices!

This is our list of our 5 favorite Burgers in Barcelona:

El Kiosko – Located at Marquès de l’Argentera, 1, Born-Ribera.

Its the perfect place to have a burger if you are near the center. They have a lot of burgers to choose from and the home made fries are amazing!

Bacoa – Located at Bacoa Gourmet Burger, Rda. Universitat, 31.

This is from the same owners as El Kiosko, so the menu is very similar. The burgers and big and juice!

Oval – (Valencia, 199)

This is probably our favorite place to have a burger in Barcelona. You can choose the type of bread, the type of meat, the cheese and the ingredients. So you can even include pineapple if you are into the sweet taste with you burger. The have excellent nachos and homemade potato fries as well as sweet potato fries. They have a wide selection of sauces for you burgers.

Makamaka Beach Burger – (Passeig de Joan de Borbó Comte de Barcelona 76)

This burger restaurant has a great atmosphere. Its perfect for when you leave the beach, as it is located very close to la Barceloneta beach. They serve excellent cocktails and really good burgers that costs between 6-9 euros.

Timesburg – (Paris, 95)

This place offers 15 delicious burger recipes. Some have japonese taste other mexican taste, depending on what you are looking for. The burgers are around 7 euros.

Salsa and Latin Jazz festival 2014

This Saturday, 26th of July,  at 20:30 will be a concert of the famous sonero of sauce «Oscar de Leon» .

The event will take place in the Club BARTS, located on Avenida del Parallel, No. 62, 08011, Barcelona, Spain.

This virtuous Venezuelan artist won a Latin Grammy last year 2013.

He has one of the best known names in salsa like Tito Puentes and Celia Cruz.
Among his great classic hits are: Yo quisiera, Como un volcán, Llorarás.
